The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport is now accepting video submissions from
CHILDREN for its production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Richard Dolce, Producing
Artistic Director; Vic DiMonda, Associate Producing Director; The Wojcik Casting Team,
Casting Office. Daytime rehearsals in NYC required for this production.

10/28/24; Open: 11/14/24; Close: 12/29/24 (Possible Extension: 1/5/25).

[CHARLIE BUCKET] Boy/male identifying, 9-15 years old. An honest actor and an excellent
singer with an unchanged voice.  Any ethnicity. Sweet, smart, hopeful and loving. A boy with
wonderful innocence and vulnerability.

[AUGUSTUS GLOOP] Male identifying. 9-15 years old. Round and full-faced, Any ethnicity. 
Excellent singer and comic actor but rampantly over-active despite his size. A young Chris
Farley.  Speaks with a German accent.

[VERUCA SALT] Female identifying, 9-15 years old. Any ethnicity. Very funny with a
character singing/screaming voice. Vicious and good at manipulation - sweet, strong and scary. 
Speaks with a Russian accent.  She thinks she is an amazing ballet dancer…she may be, or she
may not be. Prototype:  Baby June. 

[VIOLET BEAUREGARDE] Female identifying, 9-15 years. Black. Great singer with a huge
Pop/R&B voice and great hip-hop dance skills. Confident and full of attitude. Serena Williams’
drive for excellence and Leslie Jones (SNL) humor, confidence and charismatic presence. 
Ability to do Double Dutch a plus. 

[MIKE TEAVEE] Male identifying. 9-15 years old. Any ethnicity.  Great singer. A loud wild-
child with a ridiculous amount of energy. The epitome of entitlement and self-proclaimed
superiority.  Powerful and terrifying. A voice that cuts through steel.
