The John W. Engeman Theater is holding auditions for our Children's TYA 2022-2023 productions. We are looking to immediately cast the roles of Belle, Beast, & Gaston in Beauty and the Beast Jr.

 

Must be 18 and up to audition. 

Auditions will be held in person on Tuesday, August 16th sign in begins at 5pm in Studio 2 across from the theater. Auditions begin promptly at 5:30pm. 

Please bring your headshot, resume and prepare (2) 32 bar cuts to show your range and children's theater acting ability. An accompanist will be provided.

For this call we are ONLY seeking actors ages 18+. Please do not attend or submit if you are under age 18. We will be holding auditions for students ages 10-18 for our productions at a later date.

We are looking for actors for the following productions:

  • Beauty and the Beast Jr.: Performing weekend mornings, September 24th- October 30th, 2022 

  • Frosty: Performing weekend mornings, November 26th-January 1st, 2022

  • Seussical TYA: Performing weekend mornings, April 1st- May 7, 2023

  • The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley: Performing weekend mornings, May 27th- July 2, 2023

  • Cinderella: Performing weekend mornings,  July 22nd- August 27, 2023

 

Must be available for rehearsal. Rehearsals will be weekdays from 11am-3pm.

ENGEMAN THEATER ANNOUNCES CHILDREN’S AUDITION FOR A CHRISTMAS STORY

The John W. Engeman Theater at Northport announces Auditions for CHILDREN ONLY, for its upcoming production of A Christmas Story. The audition will be on Saturday, September 24. You must call the Box Office to sign up for an appointment time. Children will be seen in assigned groups starting at 1:00pm.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Rehearsals in Northport: 10/22, 10/23, 10/29, 10/30 (Children Only)

Rehearsals in NYC: 11/01 through 11/11 (Full Cast)

Rehearsals in Northport: 11/12 - 11/18 (Full Cast)

Previews begin: 11/17

Opening Night: 11/19

Closing Performance: 1/1/23

Must be available for all Performances. A Performance Calendar can be found at engemantheater.com

All auditionees will sing and dance at the audition. Please prepare 16 bars in the style of the show (you may sing from A Christmas Story) and bring dance clothes, character shoes AND tap shoes - all children will tap. You may also include a video with a vocal selection and/or a Tap Dance video.

SEEKING:

RALPHIE PARKER: Young dreamer and schemer. 8-13. To play 9- 10. Must be under 5’ tall with an unchanged voice. A regular boy with a strong presence and an honest actor. Carries the show.

RANDY (May be Double Cast): Ralphie’s younger, smaller brother. Cute and off beat but a serious headache. 6-9. Also, must sing with an unchanged voice.

 

SCUT FARKAS (May be Double Cast): The schoolyard bully who routinely torments Ralphie and friends. 8-13.

 

CHILDREN’S ENSEMBLE (All Roles will be Double Cast): Kids are all Ralphie’s friends. Boys and Girls – ages 8 – 13 with unchanged voices to play children in Ralphie’s neighborhood and school. Understudies will come from the Ensemble.

 

SCHWARTZ: One of Ralphie’s two best friends. 8-13.

 

FLICK: One of Ralphie’s two best friends. 8-13.

 

GROVER DILL: Side Kick of Scut Farkas. 8-13

 

ESTHER JANE: Ralphie’s friend with a particular interest in Ralphie. 8-13.

 

MARY BETH: Ralphie’s friend. 8-13.

 

BOYS & GIRLS: Neighborhood friends and classmates of Ralphie. 8-13.
