Set in the “Roaring Twenties,” Chicago tells the story of Roxie Hart, a chorus girl who murders her unfaithful lover and convinces her devoted husband, Amos, to take the blame. When Amos discovers he’s been deceived, Roxie finds herself on death row alongside the infamous Velma Kelly. As the two “Merry Murderesses” compete for fame, headlines, and public sympathy, they ultimately join forces in their pursuit of the American Dream: fame, fortune, and acquittal.
